BEAUTIFUL REDDING NURSERY
…is a familiar sight to all, nestled in a curve of Route 107 between Redding Center and the junction of Route 53. It has been our home and livelihood for three generations and 50 years.
Thank YOU for helping us to GROW.
Over the years our business has expanded and many popular services have been added. Yet, we feel that the family and small town values so important to us have ensured that Redding Nursery has retained its neighborly, friendly feel and concern for customer needs.
In 2002 Redding Nursery received the Family Business Award from the University of Connecticut.
OUR DeerPro Story
Each winter deer browsing causes millions of dollars in damage to landscape plants. Their destruction is unsightly, permanent and often very expensive. In fact, damage from browsing deer is the fastest growing ornamental and turf problem in America. Nearly 40 years ago, Redding Nursery owner, James McNamara recognized the need to protect his customer’s landscapes and developed DeerPro, a strong taste deterrent which prevents deer from eating woody ornamental plants during the winter months.
OUR BLOG
We hope that you will visit our blog and sign up to receive updates. All stories are either pertinent to timely local gardening issues (emerald ash borer, etc) or Sean’s garden adventures. We also send two reminders annually for seasonal garden tasks and services. (If you signed up for services you will receive emails.)
Wishing you a great year!

A Note from JAMES
Welcome to Redding Nursery! There is something important that I want to share with you: and that is the McNamara family has been blessed to call Redding home for 50 years, this year! We’ve raised our kids and now watch as our grandchildren grow into young adults.
Sheila and I started Redding Nursery in 1968. Our son Sean and his wife Krista now run the operation. We are a local, hands-on family-run business that employs local talent, we volunteer and live here. Community service is important to us, where would we be without you, our neighbors?
Please stop in and say “hi!” We always enjoy seeing you, and if you’re new, we’d like to meet you! Sincerely,
